Are You Looking for Him?

3/24/2022

Matthew 24:32-33 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.” (ESV)

Like many of you, I have traveled on long road trips. One of my favorite road trips is going back to my home state, Florida, to visit family and friends. While traveling south via Interstate-75, I notice signs with the number of mileage to my destination. As I am traveling, I see that the closer I get to my destination, the larger the destination signs become. It is impossible to miss the big sign that says “Florida Welcomes You”, unless you are sleeping.

Many signs point to the return of Jesus Christ, but are we sleeping? Are we able to notice the change in weather patterns, the growth, and the acceptance of wickedness throughout our land? Many people who were once preachers of the gospel have walked away from God. Apostasy is turning not simply away, but also against God and renouncing their faith in God. The very things that God hates and considers an abomination (Proverbs 6:16-19), man seems to love and promote during this time.

If you and I are not asleep spiritually and we consciously place our thoughts on godly principles, then the signs that point to the return of Jesus Christ are clear and visible. We know that Jesus is soon to come, and we are looking forward to His return. We will not be surprised and unaware, or unprepared because we remain connected to Jesus, through the Holy Spirit.

I want to encourage all of us to continue to look for Him because our Redemption does draw nigh.

God Bless You,
Minister R.O.H.
