Isaiah 37:21 “Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Because you prayed to me…” (ESV)
Are you facing challenges in your life today? Are you facing a health challenge, challenges on your job, family issues, or challenges in your ministry? If so, I want to encourage you with these words from my own Pastor, “Nothing happens until you pray.” Those are challenging and encouraging words that I heard from my Pastor, and I want to encourage you with those same words.
Let us look at a Biblical example from Isaiah 37. In this scripture you will find where Hezekiah and the nation of Israel were challenged by a real threat, and they were afraid of the threat they were facing. King Hezekiah had a decision to make. Hezekiah either had to continue to seek words of encouragement from the prophet Isaiah, or Hezekiah had to pray to God for himself and the nation of Israel.
Isaiah 37:21 shows us the importance of praying to God for ourselves. It’s okay to ask for others to pray for you and to receive words of comfort and encouragement, but there is nothing like going to the throne of God to receive mercy and help during our time of need. In fact, the Lord encourages us to continue to come to Him for all of our requests, according to Luke 11:5-13. It is God’s pleasure to help you in your time of need, and this is because of His love and compassion He has toward us.
Do you have a challenge that you are facing today? If so, be like Hezekiah and take that challenge to God in prayer, and have faith in knowing that God will hear and answer your prayer in faith.
